The Taste of Cincinnati is held every year during Memorial Day weekend in downtown Cincinnati. It has been an ongoing tradition since 1979 and is the United States' longest running culinary arts festival. Maifest is this weekend at Covington's Mainstrasse Village. Maifest is based on the German tradition of welcoming the first spring wines and one of the first major festivals for the Tri-State region. It has been voted a top 20 event for May 2011 by the Southeast Tourism Society and one of the Top Ten Festivals in Kentucky for the Spring of 2011 by the Kentucky Travel Industry Association.
